Agenda Tier III 7-13-11

Sustained silent reading - Should we bring it back to our classes? Try using Goodreads with your students. We talked about a Spanish book club. Are you interested in joining? Talk to Donna.

We discussed citation of images. If you are going to post a presentation to a website with images in it or put images on a website, you should make sure that you are using images that you have the rights to use. You can do this by searching for images that are "labeled for reuse" or have a Creative Commons license. Another good practice is to include the source of the images you choose, either under the image or in a citation page, just as you would cite sources in an academic paper.

Use either Google Images (click on "advanced search", select "return images that are labeled for reuse") or use Flickr (click on "search", click on "advanced search", select "Only search within Creative Commons-licensed content")
